ƒ Connect each port on the drive to a separate Fibre Channel HBA in the 

host. You can also use a dual-port Fibre Channel HBA. Configure one 
HBA (or HBA port) as the primary connection and the other HBA (or 
HBA port) as the failover connection. Install failover software on the 
servers host computer to control the transfer of I/O from one HBA to 
the other in case of a failure. Refer to your failover software and HBA 
documentation for instructions.

hub. Configure one switch (or hub) as the primary connection and the 
other switch (or hub) as the failover connection. Install failover 
software on the servers host computer to control the transfer of I/O 
from one connection to the other in case of a failure. Refer to you 
failover software and switch or hub documentation for instructions.

Installing an additional drive to the library causes the library to reassign 
element addresses. To avoid errors, reconfigure your backup software after 
adding a new drive (this can be done with autoconfig in most software 
packages).

The multi-frame T950 now supports a 4-frame configuration.

You must have at least one device (QIP or drive) installed in each T950 
drive expansion frame. Removing all devices from a drive expansion frame 
renders the frame unusable. To make the frame usable again, simply add 
one device (QIP or drive).

Adaptec SCSI HBAs   Spectra Logic does not support the use of the Adaptec 
29320 SCSI card with any Spectra Logic library. Note, however, that the 
Adaptec 29320A SCSI is supported.

Qlogic 2462 Fibre Channel HBA   To use this HBA with the library, the HBA 
must be running with a minimum driver level of 9.1.4.10 and at a 
minimum firmware level of 4.00.26. Drivers and firmware are available on 
the Qlogic web site.
