To erase, copy, or display the running configuration, use the write command in Cisco AXP EXEC mode. 

write [erase | memory | terminal]

Cisco AXP EXEC. 

Use the write or write memory command as a shortcut for the copy running-config startup-config 
command.

Erases the entire startup configuration with the exception of any 
configuration that affects the loader functionality. The startup configuration 
the reverts back to the factory default values. The running configuration is 
not affected.

Writes the running configuration to the startup configuration. This is the 
default.

Writes the running configuration to the terminal.
