Working with Messages in Policy, Virus, or Outbreak Quarantines
Access privileges for related features, such as Message Tracking and Data Loss Prevention, also affect
the options and information that an administrative user sees on Quarantine pages. For example, if a user
does not have access to Message Tracking, that user will not see message tracking information for
quarantined messages.
Note
To allow custom user roles configured on the Security Management appliance to specify policy
quarantines in filters and DLP message actions, see
End users do not have see or have access to policy, virus, and outbreak quarantines.
About the Centralized File Analysis Quarantine
If you enable centralized policy, virus, and outbreak quarantines on the Email Security appliance,
messages are quarantined to the centralized File Analysis quarantine on the Security Management
appliance.
Unlike on the Email Security appliance, the centralized File Analysis quarantine does not
automatically release messages based on the File Analysis verdict. Instead, messages are released
from the centralized quarantine after the configured retention time is reached. The default retention
time is 1 hour.
Unlike on the Email Security appliance, messages released from the centralized File Analysis
quarantine are not re-scanned upon release.
