This document describes why the device configuration preview feature in Cisco Security Manager (CSM)
might fail to work correctly.

This issue might be caused by a user permissions issue on the CSM server.
The Cisco Security Manager service runs as the user casuser, and that user must have local administrator
privileges for the CSM to run properly. If the casuser user does not have write permissions to certain folders
in the CSM installation directory, the device configuration preview feature might fail to work correctly. For
more information on the user accounts used by CSM, refer to the Understanding the Required Server User
Accounts of the Installation Guide for Cisco Security Manager 4.0.

In order to ensure that the casuser account is assigned the required permissions on the system, use these
instructions to reset the casuser user account:

In order to reset permissions for a user, run this utility:
C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\setup\support\resetcasuser.exe
This utility uses the casuser password and modifies permissions for the ID that CSM runs as casuser. This
