Operators now can configure a bearer inactivity timeout for GBR and non-GBR bearers for 

more efficient use of system resources. 

The new command 

 supports a bearer inactivity timeout for GBR and non-GBR S-GW 

bearer type sessions. 

configure 

  apn-profile apn_profile_name 

     timeout bearer-inactivity [ gbr | non-gbr ] dur_seconds volume-threshold { total 
bytes | uplink bytes | downlink bytes} | exclude-default-bearer 

     remove timeout bearer-inacativity [ gbr | non-gbr ]  

     end 

Notes: 



 

: Specifies that a session time out value will be configured for this APN profile. 



 

: Specifies that the system will check for low activity for a bearer. 



 

: Specifies that the system will check for low activity on a GBR bearer.  



 

: Specifies that the system will check for low activity on a non-GBR bearer. 



 

: Specifies the timeout for the 

 or 

 bearer inactivity timer in seconds. Valid entries 

are from 900 to 2592000 seconds (15 minutes to 720 hours). 



 

: Specifies that a threshold value of the data traffic for a bearer will be used for the 

inactivity timeout value. 



 

: Specifies that the total of both uplink and downlink data will be used as a volume threshold. 

 must 

be a value from 1 to 4294967295. 



 

: Specifies that an uplink data volume threshold will be used. 

 must be a value from 1 to 

4294967295. 



 

: Specifies that a downlink data volume threshold will be used. 

 must be a value from 1 to 

4294967295. 



 

: Specifies that inactivity handling for the default bearer will be excluded. 

This command has been enhanced to list bearer inactivity timeout settings, if configured.  


