Symptom
The wrong ONS 15600 SONET or SDH profile is saved.
Conditions
This problem occurs when there is more than one GNE. An ENE might be assigned to the
wrong GNE.
Workaround
Design the network topology with only one GNE for each ENE group.
Cisco ONS 15800, Cisco ONS 15801, and Cisco ONS 15808

Symptom
An ONS 15808 NE is in In Service state, but cannot be launched from the NE Explorer. The
software version and version name do not appear in the Identification tab for the node in the Domain
Explorer.

Conditions
This problem occurs when the NE being managed by CTM contains a board that has corrupt
fields in the flash memory.
Workaround
Complete the following steps to regain functionality:
Step 1
From CTM, mark the NE node as Out of Service.
Step 2
Open a TL1 session (port 1000) on the NE and enter the RTRV-VER::ALL:JJJ; command.
Step 3
Locate the problem card by searching for a card with a corrupt field; for example:
40MD_CO__D-01-03-01:01.00.00,/A"ßÎ...‚ÅyËÍÂ01.01.00-B,01.01.00-B,06021GK1,0,0
Step 4
Enter the following TL1 command to remove the corresponding slot from the configuration:
DLT-EQPT::01-03-01:AA;
Step 5
From CTM, mark the NE node as In Service.

Symptom
The EMSMgr_I::createTopologicalLink command returns an exception with the message
“Failed to get containing equipment for a PTP.”
Conditions
This problem occurs when you use the CTM GateWay/CORBA interface.
Workaround
Create the link in the CTM GUI. The link is displayed correctly by APIs such as
getTopologicalLink.
