The processor houses two optical receivers that are independent.  Each optical 

receiver detects an independent high-speed 2.5 Gbps optical signal and converts it to 

a PECL differential bit stream.  This signal is then sent to the receive processor.   
The optical receivers incorporate a single bicolor LED. The LED is an indicator of 

optical input and DC power presence to the optical receiver.  
The bicolor LED status is shown in the table below.

* Input light must be modulated.  The LED may illuminate red even in the presence
