Developer options

Set options for use when developing applications 
for devices.

1. From the Home screen, touch 

 Apps 

➔ 

 Settings  

➔ 

Developer options.

2. Touch Developer options 

 to turn 

Developer options On or Off.

3. Touch OK at the prompt and read the 

aution statement.

This activates the options.

Caution! These settings are intended for 

development use only. They can cause 
errors to occur on your device and with 
the applications on it.

4. Touch Desktop backup password to set a 

password for protecting full desktop 

backups.

5. Touch Stay awake so the screen does not 

go into sleep mode while charging.

6. Touch Protect SD card to require 

permission before accessing data on your 

SD card.

When enabled, connecting your device to a 
computer with a USB data cable launches 
debugging mode.

2. Touch USB debugging to enable or disable 

the setting.

3. Touch Allow mock locations to enable or 

disable when developing location-based 

applications.

4. Touch Select app to be debugged to select 

an application to debug.

5. Touch Wait for debugger to open the 

selected application when the debugger 

attaches.
