The radio: manual tuning
1
  Press [TUNER/BAND] to select "FM" or 
"AM".
 
The unit comes on automatically.
 
Each time you press the button: FM 
 AM

  Press [PLAY MODE] on the remote control to 
select "MANUAL".
 
Each time you press the button:
 MANUAL  PRESET

/FF] to select the 
frequency of the required station.
 
On the main unit, turn the Jog control.
 
"ST" is displayed when a stereo FM broadcast is being 
received.
 
Press and hold [u
 2/REW] or [i 1/FF] until the 
frequency starts scrolling to start automatic tuning. 
Tuning stops when a station is found.

  Adjust the volume.
If noise is excessive in FM
Press and hold [PLAY MODE] to display 
"MONO".
This mode improves sound quality if reception is weak, but 
broadcasts will be heard in monaural.
To cancel, press and hold [PLAY MODE] again.
MONO is also cancelled if the frequency is changed.
Turn off "MONO" for normal listening.
FM frequency step
Main unit only
The step is factory set to 0.2 MHz, but you can change it to 
receive broadcasts allocated in 0.1 MHz steps.
Press and hold [TUNER/BAND].
• 
After a while the display fl ashes with the current 
minimum frequency. Continue to hold the button down.
• 
When the minimum frequency changes, release the 
button. 
To return to the original step, repeat the above.
Note
Any preset stations are cleared by this procedure. Preset 
them again.
