(Select input with your TV’s remote 
control. The button could be labeled 
“TV/Video”, “Input”, or something 
similar.)

After recording, it is necessary to finalize (close) DVD-R, DVD-RW and +R in order to be able to play them on other DVD 
players (It is not possible to finalize DVD-RAM).

Press [e, r] to select the 
language and press [ENTER].

The unit then proceeds with 
Auto Clock Setting. The time 
is displayed when finished.

Press [e,r] to select 
“Other Functions” and 
press [ENTER].

If you mistakenly select a different language, press and 
hold [2 CH] and [1 CH] on the main unit at the same time 
for more than 5 seconds. The setting is reset. Press [^ DVD 
POWER] and select the language again.

Press [^ DVD POWER].

While stopped
Press [FUNCTIONS].

• The FUNCTIONS window

is displayed.

Press [e,r] to select 
“DISC MANAGEMENT” 
and press [ENTER].

Press [w,q] to select 
“Start” and 
press [ENTER].

A message appears when 
finished.

Finalizing is completed. You 
can play this disc on other 
equipment.

When finalizing a high-speed recording compatible disc, it may take longer 
than displayed on the confirmation screen (approximately four times).

• You cannot finalize DVD-R, DVD-RW (DVD-Video format) or +R

recorded on other manufacturers’ equipment.

Press [w,q] to select 
“Yes ” and press [ENTER].

Press [e,r] to select 
“Finalize” and press 
[ENTER].

Have you connected correctly?

If you do not have a 75 W coaxial cable connected to 
the RF IN of this unit, no channels will be found 
during the initial setup. Please connect the 
appropriate 75 W coaxial cable.
If Plug-in Auto Tuning fails, refer to page 11 of the 
operating instructions.
