Manual Photography Mode
Exposure (EXP)
Using the exposure settings, [PRG] PROGRAM, [Av] APERTURE PRIORITY, [Tv]
SHUTTER SPEED PRIORITY, and [M] MANUAL, you can capture images with precision
control.

] PROGRAM
In program mode, the camera automatically sets the shutter speed and the aperture value
according to the brightness of the subject. This allows you to capture images with ease just
like when [ 
 ] automatic photography mode. However, in program mode you may adjust
the white balance, photometry mode, and other settings before capturing images.
1. Rotate the mode dial to [ 
 ] manual photography
mode, and press the OK button.
2. Select [EXP] using the   /   buttons, and press the 
button.
A list of exposure mode icons is displayed.
3. Select [PRG] using the   /   buttons, and press the
OK button.
4. Press the OK button again.

] APERTURE PRIORITY
In the aperture priority mode, images are taken with the priority given to the aperture setting.
The shutter speed is automatically set according to the aperture which you specify.
1. Rotate the mode dial to [ 
 ] manual photography
mode,and press the OK button.
2. Select [EXP] using the   /   buttons, and press the 
button.
A list of exposure mode icons is displayed.
3. Select [Av] using the   /   buttons, and press the OK
button.
4. Press the OK button again and the camera is ready to
take the next shot.
5. Before capturing an image, you can select an
aperture using the 
 /
 buttons.

The aperture-setting choices include: F2.8, F3.2, F3.6, F4.0, F4.5, F5.0, F5.6, F.6.3, F7.1,
and F8.0
When aperture F2.8 is selected, the shutter speed is limited to a maximum speed of 1/1000
sec.
If an appropriate aperture/shutter speed combination cannot be obtained, the frame around
the image histogram turns red.
The aperture value will vary depending on the position of the zoom lens.
