Room Operations Center
Operational Description
The ROC[m] is Evolve’s room control gateway device. The device connects to a Wi-Fi network for
communication via our cloud infrastructure, and bridges IP commands to Z-Wave commands for
communication with other Evolve devices. An example of this would be allowing a user on Evolve’s cloud
infrastructure to turn on an Evolve light switch via a remote location. The request would be placed on
Evolve’s managed webpage, the message would be delivered to the ROC[m] via a Wi-Fi connection and
the command would be converted to a Z-Wave message to turn on a physical light switch. The device
shall always operate at a distance greater than 20 cm from the human body.

User Manual
Following simple mechanical installation using the provided self-tapping screws and plugging in the
wall-wart into an outlet, it’s important to ensure the Wi-Fi signal strength is sufficient to connect to the
Wi-Fi network. There is a Wi-Fi LED that will illuminate if this connection is made successfully. The
installer must then use Evolve’s proprietary programming software to configure the room. Control over
the room by the customer is provided by Evolve’s managed website which requires an active
subscription. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
