2.1.2 Navigating the keypad
Several keys on the keypad are used as an alternative means of inputting device commands.

Meaning
Power indicator
Displays the percentage of battery life remaining.
Default screen prompt
Prompts the user that the reader is ready to read cards. Also

Link status indicator
Server connection status indicator. If X is displayed over the
icon, this indicates no connection to server.

Phone Off (Airplane mode)

Sound volume

System time
Standard digital clock display.
Read head status
Indicates the status of the read head.

Time remaining before the database is due to expire.
