NOTE: Some errors interfere with automatic synchronization. If you suspect that a scheduled 
synchronization has not occurred, you should attempt to manually synchronize your information. 
Successfully completing manual synchronization resets automatic synchronization. For more information, 
see "Synchronizing Information" in ActiveSync Help on the PC.

Before changing synchronization settings on the phone, disconnect it from your PC.   

1.  On the Home screen, press 

, select ActiveSync, press OK. 

2. Press 

[Menu], select Options and press OK. 

3.  Select one of the information types. 
4.  Do one of the following:   

• 

To view or change settings for an information type (when available), press 

Settings. 

• 

To view or change settings for a computer or Exchange Server, press 

[Menu] select Settings 

and click 

OK. 

5.  Change the amount of information to be synchronized or other settings.   
6. Press 

[Done] (or Finish in the Exchange Server settings wizard). 

There are several options for connecting your phone to your PC. Both devices will need to use the 
ActiveSync program. 
Important NOTE: To synchronize using ActiveSync, you must install ActiveSync on your PC before 
connecting your phone to the PC.   

1.  Turn on the phone. 
2.  Connect your phone to your PC using a serial cable, USB cable, or Bluetooth connection. For more 

detailed information, see "Connecting a mobile device to a PC" in ActiveSync Help on your PC.

This will allow you to use the ActiveSync program. 

1.  On the Home screen, press 

, select Settings and press OK. 

2. Scroll 

to 

Connections and press OK. 

3. Select 

Modem Link and press OK. 

4.  Use the left and right Navigation Keys to select status. 
5. Select 

Inactive. 

6. Press 

[Done]. 

 
NOTE: You must deactivate the USB modem if you want to use ActiveSync. 
 

The Pantech 

C820

 provides a USB connector for transferring data to and from your computer via USB cable. 

1.  Plug the USB Data Cable into a standard USB connector of your computer. 
2.  Plug the other end of the USB Data Cable into the bottom of your phone. 

 

Follow the instructions in ActiveSync Help on the PC for configuring Bluetooth on your PC to support 
ActiveSync. 

1.  In the phone Home screen, press 

[Start], select ActiveSync and press OK. 

2. Press 

[Menu] [Connect via Bluetooth]. Ensure that the phone and PC are within close range. 

3.  If this is the first time you have connected to this PC via Bluetooth, you must complete the Bluetooth
