9.1
P25 Trunking Features
P25 Trunking supports data service on a P25 Trunking system using an EFJohnson radio
and a portable computer. The radio communicates with the computer over the P25 Mobile
Data Peripheral (MDP) Interface, which uses an RS232 hardware interface at 9600 bits/s.

The radio must be programmed for data operations on the Trunked IV & D system.
9.1.1 Interface Connection
The radio connects from its MDP Interface to the RS232 COM port of the computer using
the P25 Mobile Data Peripheral (MDP) Interface cable. The radio Accessory Connector
(side port) functions as the MDP Interface connection point.
