•   Prior to each measurement, check your instrument and the measuring leads for
damages. Never take any measurements if the protecting insulation is defective.
•   Be especially careful when dealing with voltages higher than 33 V/AC or 70 V/DC.
Even at such voltages you can get a life-threatening electric shock if you come
into contact with live electric wires.
•   Always connect the test leads to the testing device before you connect the leads
to the test object.
•   When using alligator clips, make sure that no other cables, leads or electronic
components are pinched or even damaged.
•   The meter is only suitable for use in dry conditions. Avoid using the device in a
damp or wet environment.
•   Always ensure that the test clips are perfectly clean. Dirty or even corroded test
clips can lead to an incorrect measurement.
•   When using alligator clips, always make sure that they sit cleanly on the leads or
contacts. If the clips no longer have the required strength, exchange them for new
clips of the same design.
• In the case of a contact-free measurement, always make sure that the meter is
positioned securely. If necessary, hold it tightly during the measurement process.
In doing so, however, make sure that you do not come into contact with moving
parts of the motor.
• Never exceeds the highest permissible voltage values. If the stated values are
exceeded, the product becomes damaged and a fatal hazard exists. (See chapter
Technical Data.)
•   Store the measurement device and all of its accessories carefully in the storage
bag when it is no longer needed.
generAl BAttery instructions
•  Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
•   Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by
children or domestic animals. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
•   Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
•   Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fire. There is a risk of explosion.
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Please observe correct polarity (note plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the non-rechargea-
ble/rechargeable battery.

intenDeD use
The phase sequence tester serves as a meter and testing device indicating the phase
sequence or direction of rotation of motors without frequency converter in a three-phase net-
work. The meter likewise shows whether all 3 phases are present. Measurement is performed
by means of the three test leads and the alligator clips which are supplied, or contactless,
directly via the magnetic field of an AC motor in the range of measurement category CAT IV
600 V in accordance with EN 61010 and all lower categories.
Measuring under adverse ambient conditions such as dust and flammable gasses, vapours or
solvents is not permitted.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating
instructions.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of
