10. Rechargeable Battery Programmes
a) General Information
As described in chapter 8 already, the desired rechargeable battery programme can be chosen
with the button „2“ or „8“ after insertion of the rechargeable batteries into one of the 4 rechar-
geable battery chutes.
If no rechargeable battery is recognised, the rechargeable battery programme cannot
be chosen either. First, check if the rechargeable battery (AA/mignon or AAA/micro)
was inserted correctly.
If the rechargeable battery still isn‘t recognised, check if the contacts of the rechargeable
battery and charger are clean.
Oxidised contacts at the rechargeable battery are a sign for the rechargeable battery
to be overaged, spilled or defective. Such rechargeable batteries should no longer
be used.
If everything is in order, the rechargeable battery may be defective. Try inserting a
different battery in the charging chute.
There are the following rechargeable battery programmes:
„CHARGE“
„CHARGE“
Charging
„CYCLE“
Cycle (1 - 12 charging/discharging processes can be set), optimal for NiCd
rechargeable batteries, to remove the present memory effect
„DISCHARGE“ Discharge
„BREAK-IN“
„BREAK-IN“
Formatting of new rechargeable batteries (or rechargeable batteries that
were stored for more than 3 months)
„REFRESH“
Refreshing rechargeable batteries (rechargeable batteries stored for less
than 3 months)
After confirmation with „ENTER“, the settings described in the following subchapters are
possible.
If no button was pushed for 5 seconds, the charger will start the corresponding
rechargeable battery programme.
If you accidentally waited for too long, simply take the rechargeable battery from the
battery chute.
Wait for one to two seconds and insert the rechargeable battery again. Start again.
