Problems starting up from the CD?
If you’ve followed the steps in the previous sections and the Macintosh

Insert the CD into the tray.

Choose Restart from the Special menu.

Immediately press and hold down the Command (

), Shift, Option, and Delete keys.
The computer bypasses the internal hard disk, and the Macintosh Performa
CD icon appears on the desktop.

Choose Control Panels from the Apple (

) menu.

Double-click the Startup Disk icon.
The Startup Disk control panel appears.

Click the CD icon to select it as your startup disk.

Close the Startup Disk control panel.

Press and hold down the Control, Command (

), and Power keys to restart your
computer.
The computer starts up using the CD, and in a few moments the Macintosh
desktop with a Launcher appears.
