APPeNDIX B – VeNtING
VENT THIS BOILER according to the instructions. Failure to do so may cause products of
combustion to enter the building resulting in severe property damage, personal injury or death.
i
Install this boiler according to this manual and the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54,
the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code, CAN/CSA B149.1, or applicable provisions of the

Seal any unused openings in the
common venting system.
2.
  Visually inspect the venting system
for proper size and horizontal pitch
and determine there is no blockage or
restriction, leakage, corrosion, and other
deficiencies which could cause an
unsafe condition.
3.
  Resize the common venting system
to approach the minimum size as

determined using the National Fuel Gas
Code, ANSI Z223.1 and/or CAN/CSA
B149.1, Installation Codes.
4.
Check the draft of each remaining

appliance using the procedure described
in Appendix G, checking draft and
combustion.
5.
  Correct any draft problems before

placing the gas appliances back into
service.

In addition to previously mentioned vent
codes of the main general guidelines,
           atmospheric vented installations must
also be in accordance with the Standard for
Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents and Solid Fuel

Installation Code, CAN/CSA- B149.1.
