Backlight
The display and the keypad are illuminated by a
backlight. When you press any key the backlight
illuminates. It turns off if no key is pressed within a
given period of time, depending on the Backlight
menu option. See page 102 for further details.
Note: The backlight remains on at all times when the
phone is connected to an optional car kit.
Service Light
The service light’s activity depends on the Service
light
menu option. See page page 109. The colour
of service light is also selectable from the option.
The service light will also flash, when you set the
SMS message, MMS message and incoming call
alert to Light only

Getting Started
Inserting/Removing the SIM Card
When you subscribe to a cellular network, you are
provided with a SIM card loaded with your
subscription details, such as your PIN, any optional
services available and so on.
• Keep all miniature SIM cards out of the reach of
small children.
• The SIM card and its data can be easily damaged
by scratches or bending, so be careful when
handling, inserting or removing the card.
• When installing the SIM card, always make sure
that the phone is switched off before you remove
the battery.
Inserting the SIM Card
1. If necessary, remove the battery by referring to
page 19.
2. Insert and slide the SIM card under the two
tabs, ensuring that the notched corner is top left
and the gold contacts of the card face into the
phone.
