When the Subject is Not Centered 
(Shooting with Focus Lock)
When your subject is not in the center of your 
composition, compose your photo after focusing. (Focus 
Lock)
Example: Taking a photograph of the castle in the background with 
the camera focused on a person in foreground.
1.
Press the POWER button to turn the camera on.
For information on how to turn the power on, see P.22.
2.
Switch the Mode Selector to 5.
3.
Put the subject of your photo in the center of the screen and 
press the shutter release button halfway.
