1.  In  order  for  the  gateway  PC  to  configure  and  control  the  RU-3400JY-S11  connected  to  the 

JU-1000, it is necessary to install the HITACHI provided software.

2.  Driver installation on PC 

a.  Connect  the  JU-1000  to  the  PC  via  USB  cable.    It  is  not  necessary  to  connect  the 

RU-3400JY-S11 at this time. 

b.  Insert  the  CD-

ROM  disc  labeled  “QUATECH  Communication  Product  Drivers  and 

Manuals”  in  the  PC’s  CD/DVD  drive.    Follow  the  instructions  on  the  PC  for  the 
installation of the drivers. 

c.  When the installation is completed remove the CD-ROM disc in step b above from the 

PC’s optical drive. 

d.  Verify  the  drivers  have  been  properly  installed  by:  "My  compute

r"  →"Property" 

→"Hardware"  →"Device  manager"  select  and  expand  the  "Port  (COM  &  LPT)”,  the 
eight (8) new USB ports for the JU-1000 should exist as shown below. 

e.  When connecting and disconnecting the JU-

1000 from the PC’s USB port, ALWAYS 

verify that these com ports are open and available for use.
