No sound or only a low sound is 
heard.

cSet [HiFi SOUND] to [STEREO] in the 

 (PLAYER SET) menu for 

DCR-PC106E, or in the 

 (VCR SET) menu for DCR-PC107E. 

cTurn up the volume. (p. 35) 
cOn the 

 (PLAYER SET) menu for DCR-PC106E, or on the 

 

(VCR SET) menu for DCR-PC107E, adjust [AUDIO MIX] from the 
[ST2] (additional sound) side until the sound is heard appropriately.

cWhen you are using an S video plug, make sure the red and white plugs 

of the A/V connecting cable are connected as well. (p. 40) 

The sound breaks off.

cClean the head using the cleaning cassette (optional). (p. 88) 

Cannot perform Date search with the 
recording date displayed on the 
screen.

cUse a cassette with Cassette Memory. (p. 83)
cSet [CM SEARCH] to [ON] in the

• There is a blank section in the beginning or middle of the tape. This is 

not a malfunction.

• The tape you are playing was recorded without setting the date and time.

• The data code on a tape with a scratch or noise cannot be read.

The END SEARCH function does not 
work.

• The cassette was ejected after recording when using a cassette without 

Cassette Memory. (p. 83)

• The cassette is new and has nothing recorded.

The END SEARCH function does not 
work correctly.

• There is a blank section in the beginning or middle of the tape. This is 

not a malfunction. 

Noises appear and

• The tape was recorded in a TV color system other than that of your

Cannot dub correctly using the A/V 
connecting cable.

cMake sure your camcorder is connected correctly to the input jack of the

Pictures from connected devices are 
not displayed correctly.

• The input signal is not sent correctly except from the PAL system-based
