Direction Change with RX Input (page 1 of 2) 
 
Introduction
 
Like all speed references on the G3, the RX input has an adjustable bias and gain. The RX is unique, however, in that its inputs can be 
positive or negative and the corresponding speeds can be positive or negative. The first example shown below will allow a motor 
direction change based on a positive-only speed reference (a speed pot). The second example will illustrate how to program the drive 
to accept an input that reverses polarity. If you do not have a motor connected, use monitor to verify direction change. Set SWITCH 1 
(right of the phone jack on the control board under the keypad) to ‘5’ or ‘10’ as appropriate for the voltage you are applying to the RX 
terminal. The I/V switch does not apply to the RX terminal.
