Panda GateDefender Performa scans all mail protocols

(SMTP, IMAP4 and POP3), detecting spam before it enters

the local network. The spam detection rules are

automatically updated every hour and a half, completely

transparently to the user.

What some companies consider spam is normal email for others.

For this reason, the administrator can set the sensitivity level

of the scan system to a High, Medium or Low. And each message

can be classified as Spam, Probably spam or Not spam.
As well as adjusting the scan system, the administrator can

define a white list of trusted addresses or domains, whose

messages will never be classified as spam, and a blacklist

of domains whose messages will always be treated as spam.
The administrator can also define separate actions to

take on message classified as Spam or Probably spam,

from flagging the message subject, deleting it or

forwarding it to another mailbox in order to analyze it.

Panda GateDefender Performa automatically detects

fraudulent attempts to forge the identity of other

organizations using email messages.

Panda GateDefender Performa determines if a message

is spam by scanning the header and body of the message

using multi-functional techniques (Bayesian, heuristic, rule-

based...), whether it is in txt or html. It does this using

4 consecutive scan engines for maximum effectiveness.

Known spam messages. It checks if the message is

in the list of known spam messages.
Known spammers. It checks if the sender is in the

list of known spammers.
Message content. It scans the content of the message,

checking the style, design, language and text.
Advanced spam techniques. It checks if the message

contains tactics usually used by spammers to get past

anti-spam protection.

Panda GateDefender Performa allows the administrator to

access real-time information on the status of the anti-spam

system. It also generates detailed customized reports, including

the specific fields required: sender, time received, etc

What's more, graphic reports can be extracted to provide a

simple overview of the efficiency of the protection over time

and thereby, help users to evaluate the rapid return on investment.

Panda GateDefender Performa incorporates hardware and

software diagnosis tools, as well as a self-repair

mechanism (WatchDog) to restore the system automatically

in the event of vulnerabilities. By preventing saturation of

network resources and downtime, it increases productivity

with minimum administrator intervention, resulting in low

cost of ownership.
