Desktop Manager Email Configuration
Folder Content Synchronization
To change the email configuration settings you need to
access the Desktop Manager.
1. Go to the Desktop Manager on your PC
2. Double click the Intellisync Application
3. Click Configure Email
In the Email Configuration window, there are two primary
synchronization settings.
•
Import moves and deletes to handheld only
•
Synchronizes moves and deletes (this is the default
setting for the Desktop Manager
If you choose Import moves and deletes to handheld only you are requesting the following:
Messages moved or deleted are only reflected on the handheld. If a message is moved or deleted from
the handheld it will NOT be moved or deleted on the desktop unless that action was initiated from the
desktop.
the handheld it will NOT be moved or deleted on the desktop unless that action was initiated from the
desktop.
Choosing Synchronize moves and deletes will allow changes made on the handheld and/or desktop to
be reflected on the desktop and handheld respectively.
Messages moved on your handheld will be moved on your desktop once you have synchronized.
If you choose to have information synchronized between your BlackBerry and the desktop, there may be
situations where the information on the handheld is not the same as on your desktop because you’ve made
conflicting changes in both locations. For example, you make changes on your PC before you synchronize
your BlackBerry.
By setting the preferences in the Desktop Manager, you set the preferences for how to resolve these
discrepancies. You have two options for handling these discrepancies:
•
Desktop wins (this is the default setting for the Desktop Manager)
•
Handheld wins
