The most basic way to search during playback is using the
forward or reverse function. This section contains several other
options available for searching a tape.

You can view a tape during play or play pause. Sound is turned
off during picture search. Search works best for tapes recorded at
the SP or SLP speed.

Press FWD to search forward or REV to search in reverse.

2.

Press FWD or REV again or press PLAY on the remote
(PLAY•PAUSE on the VCR) to return to normal playback.

You can view a tape during play or play-pause using slow
motion. Search works best for tapes recorded at the SP or
SLP speed.

Press SLOW on the remote to begin slow motion playback.

2.

Use TRACK up or down to remove any streaks from the
picture.

3.

Use the + and - or FWD and REV buttons to speed up or slow
down slow motion playback.

4.

Press PLAY on the remote (PLAY•PAUSE on the VCR) to return
to normal playback.

The VCR switches automatically from slow-motion playback
to stop after a few minutes.

This is useful for skipping commercials or short program
segments.

Press SEARCH once during playback to advance the tape
approximately 30 seconds.

•

Each press of the SEARCH button adds an additional 30
seconds, up to 5 minutes.
