Under 

, enter the new community information:

• A unique name in the 

 field, the field holds up 

to 20 characters (a-z, A-Z), no special characters or blank spaces 

are allowed

• IP  address  in  the 

 field, if the value in the Subnet Mask 

edit box ends in a zero, the value in the IP address edit box must 

also end in a zero

• Subnet mask in the 

field

If no communities are defined, the PMC is universally 

accessible through a “public” community (read-only).

A single community with an IP address or subnet mask set 

to 

0.0.0.0,

 or left blank, indicates that IP-address-based 

access control is disabled.
