The Windows 98 driver for the Imation Floppy Drive, can be downloaded from the
Imation Website. This driver is included on a  CD shipped with the USB floppy drive, and

is included here as a backup, as needed.

The driver is only needed in Windows 98 and 98SE.  Windows Me, 2000 and XP are
natively supported, and the drivers should not be installed.

The steps required for installing the driver for the USB floppy drive are as follows:

Please read this entire file before downloading anything to your drive.

1.  Download the driver file. 

2.  Decompress to your hard drive by double clicking on the downloaded file.  It is a self-

extracting zipped file that creates an Imation Driver directory on your C:/ drive with
the necessary files.  Click on Unzip and then Close when completed.

3.  Attach the USB cable from the drive to the PC.  The Hardware Install Wizard will come

up. 

4.  Click on "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)."  Click Next.

5.  Click on "Specify a location."  Make sure the floppy disk and CD are not checked.

6.  Browse to the (C:) drive and double click the folder labeled c:/Imation USB.  Click OK

and then Next.  Click Next and Finish, as prompted.

7.  Repeat the sequence of Step 6 to install the Port Driver.

8.  Windows will complete the driver installation and the floppy drive will be recognized in

Windows Explorer.

9.  If the Hardware Install Wizard does not come up, go to Start/Settings/Control

Panel/Add Hardware

10. Double click Add Hardware with the floppy drive connected and follow Steps 4

through 8.

11. Following the install, you may wish to delete the Imation USB folder from your hard

drive.
