Getting Started

Smart Label Icons format the active label with a different 
format. 

1 Open a new label or a label that contains text that you 

want to use for a different type of label; e.g., the contents 
of an address label can be used to create a file folder 
label.

2 Click the Smart Label Icon for the type of label that you 

want to prepare. Click the asterisk button to select a for-
mat that hasn’t been assigned to a Smart Label Icon.

3 If the Smart Text object is empty, type the text into the 

object. 

Smart Text objects that contain fields automatically insert 
contact information from the active label.

In addition to the Object menu commands, there are 
context menus that provide commands for modifying 
objects and the label settings.

When the pointer is positioned on an object, clicking the 
right mouse button opens the context menu that contains 
commands for working with that object.

When the pointer is positioned outside objects on the 
label, clicking the right mouse button opens a context 
menu that contains commands for printing the label, 
opening a new label, and opening the Label Properties 
dialog box.

Note...  If you have difficulty selecting an object in the label, 
choose the object from the list at the bottom of the Object 
menu.

Format Text objects. Select the text that you want to 
change and type the new text.

Return Address objects. Choose Change Return Address 
from the context menu or choose Properties from the 
Object menu. Enter your return address into the dialog 
box that appears.
