Using VistaAccess - Direct Access
VistaAccess is a utility that provides instant access to several MX3 Scanner
settings.
Note: You access VistaAccess from the Control Strip on your desktop. If you
do not have the Control Strip feature installed on your Macintosh computer,
you can install it from the Macintosh OS CD-ROM
To use VistaAccess:
Click on the VistaScan icon on the Control Strip. (It looks like a scanner.)
A pop-up menu will open with the following options:
VistaScan - Loads the VistaScan D.A. software.
Push Button Configuration - Use this to set your Astra MX3 buttons.

Lamp On/Off Control - Controls the scanner's lamp power saving utility.
Refer to the section "Turning the Scanner Lamp On and OFF below.
Note: The lamp remains on whenever the scanner has power, unless you turn it
off. See more in the section titled turning the Scanner Lamp On and Off.
Find/Refresh Scanner - Re-initializes the scanner. If the VistaScan Icon
has a red X over it, the scanner may be disconnected from a power source.
Turning the Scanner Lamp On and Off   
You can turn the scanner lamp on and off using the Astra MX3’s built-in
Power Saving utility. The lamp remains on whenever the scanner has power,
unless you turn it off using the UMAX Power Saving utility.
To turn the lamp on or off on your Mac:
1.
Click on the VistaAccess Scanner icon in the control strip and select
Lamp On/Off Control from the pop-up menu.
