Accessing the Caere OmniPage Online Manual

1.

Double-click on the Hard Drive icon on the desktop.

2.

Double-click on the OmniPage LE folder.

3.

Double-click OmniPage Ltd.pdf. (If you receive an error, please install
Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.01. See Installing Acrobat Reader below for
instructions.)

Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.01

To read some of the online manuals for the included software, you need to use
Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Acrobat Reader Installer was installed on your
hard drive when you installed OmniPage Ltd.

1.

Double-click on the Hard Drive icon on the desktop.

2.

Double-click on the OmniPage Ltd. Ed. folder.

3.

Double-click on the Acrobat Reader installer icon.

4.

Follow the directions to install Acrobat Reader on your hard drive.

Troubleshooting

This scanner is designed to be reliable and easy to install. If you have any
problems with your scanner, please read the notes that follow to find out
probable causes of the problem.

General Problems and Solutions

The scanner lamp fails to light, flickers or dims.

1.

Check to ensure the power adapter is plugged in completely.

2.

The scanning lamp is failing or has failed and needs to be changed. Please
contact your dealer or UMAX Technical Support.

The scanner test failed. The scanner test utility is a PC-based utility.
Macintosh users will not encounter this problem.

Make sure the interface cable is properly connected to the USB connector port
on your computer. Find/refresh the scanner after reinserting the USB cable.
Try the other USB port on the computer.
