Setup Page:  CDI / Alarms (cont.)
To change the maximum CDI scale setting:
1.  Select “CDI / Alarms” from the Setup Page, using the steps described on page 144.
2.  The fl ashing cursor highlights the “Selected CDI” fi eld. Rotate the small right knob to select the desired 
CDI scale. The selected scale and any lower scale settings are used during the various phases of fl ight as 
described on page 145.
3. Press ENT to accept the selected scale. The “System CDI” fi eld displays the CDI scale currently in use. The 
“System CDI” setting may differ from the “Selected CDI” depending upon the current phase of fl ight. See 
page 145 for more information.
To change the ILS CDI selection:
1.  Select “CDI / Alarms” from the Setup Page, using the steps described on page 144.
2. Rotate the large right knob to highlight the “ILS CDI Capture” fi eld.
3. Rotate the small right knob to select “Auto” or “Manual”, as desired. Press ENT to accept the se lec tion.
To set the arrival alarm and alarm distance:
1.  Select “CDI / Alarms” from the Setup Page, using the steps described on page 144.
2. Rotate the large right knob to highlight the “On”/”Off” fi eld (left-hand side of the fi eld directly below 
“Arrival Alarm”).
3. Rotate the small right knob to select “On” or “Off”, as desired. Press ENT to accept the selection.
4.  The fl ashing cursor moves to the alarm distance fi eld (to the immediate right of “On” or “Off”). To enter an 
arrival alarm distance, use the small and large right knobs to enter the desired alarm distance. Press ENT
when fi nished.
NOTE: The CDI scale is always mea sured in nautical miles, re gard less of the current dis tance units 
of measure selected on the Units / Position Page.
Setup Page
STEP 3 (top): The “System CDI” fi eld indicates the 
current CDI scale in use. This setting may be lower 
than the “Selected CDI” setting when necessary for 
the current phase of fl ight — such as during an 
approach.

STEP 3 (middle): “Auto” ILS CDI Capture switches 
the CDI output from GPS to the VLOC receiver as 
you intercept the fi nal approach course.
