FPL leg will not be smoothed — The upcoming fl ight plan (FPL) leg is too 
short for smooth waypoint transitions. Expect a rapid change in the CDI.
FPL waypoint is locked — At least one fl ight plan (FPL) waypoint is locked 
because the waypoint has been removed from the current NavData® card (data-
base change), the data card is missing, or the data card has failed.
FPL waypoint moved — The position d ata for one or more fl ight plan (FPL) 
waypoints moved at least 0.33 arc minutes in the current NavData® card (data-
base change).
FPL waypoint was deleted — At least one fl ight plan (FPL) waypoint is no 
longer available when a new NavData® card was installed (da tabase change).
G/S has failed — The GNS 530 has detected a failure in its glideslope receiver. 
The glideslope receiver is not available and the unit should be returned to your 
Garmin dealer for service.
G/S is not responding — Internal system-to-system communication between 
the main processor and the glideslope receiver has failed. Operational status 
of the glideslope receiver is unknown and the unit should be returned to your 
Garmin dealer for service.
G/S needs service — The GNS 530 has detected a failure in its glideslope 
receiver. The glideslope receiver may still be usable, but the unit should be 
returned (at your earliest convenience) to your Garmin dealer for service.
GAD confi guration required — The GAD 42 Interface Adapter has lost 
the confi guration information stored in its internal memory. Any me-
chanical indicators connected to your GNS 530 are unusable and the GAD 
42 should be returned to your Garmin dealer for service.
GAD needs service — The GNS 530 has detected a failure in the GAD 42 
interface adapter. Any mechanical indicators connected to your GNS 530 
are unusable and the GAD 42 should be returned to your Garmin dealer 
for service.
GPS has failed — The GNS 530 has detected a failure in its GPS re ceiver. 
The GPS receiver is not available and the unit should be returned to your 
Garmin dealer for service.
GPS is not responding — Internal system-to-system communication

status of the GPS receiver is unknown and the unit should be returned to 
your Garmin dealer for service.

GPS stored data was lost — Satellite almanac, ephemeris and time data

tion (data over six months old).
