USER’S MANUAL
                                          ISDN TESTER AND ANALYZER D2001
NX

In this configuration, the test equipment can completely substitute a NT network
termination.  In order to make working this feature, follow the steps below:
Select the ACCESS MODE as ISDN BASIC
Select the ACT AS field as NT1 mode
Connect the U bus to the D2001 U socket
Connect the user’s terminal through the TT2001 adapter as for NT-S
mode. See Appendix A for information on connections.
Now it is possible to use the terminal and verify on the tester the D channel protocol
using the Background Monitor test. See chapter 5 for further information.
In this configuration it is possible to check the remote power  from the line, the S/T
Bus pulses voltage and to listen to the audio on a specific B channel. See chapter 6.2
for further information on how to run this features.
3.4. Performing a call test
Use the MAKE A CALL test to manually test the availability of ISDN services and/or
an audio connection. The instrument allows to receive incoming calls and make
outgoing calls to a remote terminal. For outgoing calls the instrument supports both
the overlap and en-bloc mode.
Use this test to check the information coming from the network and the implemented
supplementary services.

The availability of the supplementary services in the instrument
menu changes according to the current state of the call. For
example, you can activate the 3-party conference only after
holding a call and activating a second call.
In case of voice call, the audio connection can be established using the instrument’s
speaker and microphone, or an external handset that is connected to the HANDSET
jack at the right hand side of the D2001. To choose the type of external handset. See
chapter 8  ‘Configuring the Instrument’.
The test is available also in POTS mode, allowing the test on the analogue line or at
the a/b termination of an NT1+ / NT-IP / IAD.
