INSTALLATION ON WINDOWS XP WITH SP 2 

This section describes, how to use RW-480 PLOTBASE on 
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and how to 
configure the new security features of Windows XP. 

 
Installing the Service Pack 2 from Microsoft on Windows XP 
Professional will lead to non-working RW-480 system. The 
operator has to modify the system settings of Windows XP. 

 
The following steps explain how to solve that problem: 
 
1.  Install Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 [for 

Windows XP] as described by Microsoft. 

2.  Install RW-480 Version 3.5 as usual. 

Attention: Do not install elder versions on Windows 

XP  with  Service  Pack  2!  If  you  have  an  elder  version, 

get an update to the above versions first. 

3. Start 

RW-480 

PLOTBASE. 

You will be alerted that RW-480 PLOTBASE does access the 
network. This is a solid and tested feature and necessary for 
RW-480 PLOTBASE to work. 

4.  Answer the dialogs for "ADCAPServer" and "PBDBru" with 

"Unblock":
