Shutting down the system to add or replace hardware
Shut down the VPN Router 5000, and unplug it to install or replace any of these 
field replaceable units:
option card
pair  of  DIMMs
fan tray
To replace the primary hard disk drive, shut down the system as described in this 
section. However, you do not need to unplug the chassis to replace a hard drive.
To shut down the VPN Router 5000:

Use the Web graphical user interface (GUI) or the command line interface 
(CLI) to shut down the gateway.
Web GUI: Choose Admin > Shutdown. Select the option to power off the 
gateway after shutdown.
CLI: Use the 
reload
 command to shut down the system. For example, 
enter 
reload power-off disable-logins “Upgrade hardware”

Wait for the system to shut down.
You need to wait several minutes.

Disconnect the two power cords from the power outlets.
Caution: 
Risk of equipment damage or data loss
 
Shut down the gateway as described in this section before you attempt to 
add or replace hardware.
