The MAC addresses for Model 5380 and Model 5580 router modules follow
the Wellfleet

addressing convention. The OID is 0000a2. Keep this fact in
mind when you look at router MAC addresses on an Ethernet trace.
Clearing a System 5000 Slot Before Installing a New Module
When you install and configure a Model 5380 or a Model 5580 router module
in a System 5000 chassis, the Supervisory Module saves the configuration. If
you replace the router with a different model router or a different type of
module, you will need to “clear the slot” (clear the configuration settings from
the Supervisory Module) before configuring a new module. Refer to

When you view the token ring port statistics through the service port
Connection Diagnostics menu, the data that is displayed is from the perspective
of the active monitor not from the Model 5580 Token Ring Router ports. Use
Site Manager to view the Model 5580 port statistics.
