Classifying and Organizing Alarms
When a fault occurs in WLAN Management Software, the Fault Management System offers a means to categorize the
fault by functional area and severity.
WLAN Management Software categorizes the fault according to the functional area. Depending on the functional area in
which a fault occurs, you can assign the fault to one of the following categories:
System
Performance
Security
Client
WLAN Management Software also organizes faults according to severity:
Critical (Red)
Major (Orange)
Minor (Yellow)
Note.
WLAN Management Software allows up to four more events than
specified. When a fifth extra event enters the log, WLAN Management Software
then prunes the 5 oldest events. For example, if the maximum number of events
per alarm is 25, WLAN Management Software does not prune any until the
number of events reaches 30. WLAN Management Software then prunes away the
5 oldest events to leave 25 events.
