Saving a Network Plan with a New Name
You can save a network plan with a new name by using the Save As feature.
To save a network plan with a new name:

Select Services > Plan Management to access the WLAN Management Software Plan Management
page.

Click Save As in the left column to display the Save As Network Plan page.

In the Network Plan Name box, type a name for the network plan. You can use 1 to 60 alphanumeric
characters, with no spaces, tabs, or any of the following: slash (/), backslash (\), quotation marks (“ ”),
asterisk (*), question mark (?), angle brackets (< >), or vertical bar (|).

You can also place the name of an existing plan into the Network Plan Name by clicking the button next
to the network plan’s name and clicking Select.

Click Save to save the network plan with the new name.
Opening a Network Plan
Network plans reside on a host running WLAN Management Software Services. You can open an existing network plan
by connecting to the WLAN Management Software Services host where the plan resides, selecting Services > Plan
Management, then specifying the plan’s name in the Switch Plan page. The network plan is then opened in the WLAN
Management Software main window.

You can open a network plan created in a previous version of WLAN Management Software with a later version of
WLAN Management Software. For example, if you created a network plan in WLAN Management Software Version
4.0, you can open the plan in WLAN Management Software Version 4.1. However, because a network plan created in
WLAN Management Software Version 4.0 manages WSSs running WSS Software Version 4.0, you cannot use new
features available in WSS Software Version 4.1 unless you upgrade the WSSs to WSS Software Version 4.1. (To
upgrade WSSs, see
WLAN Management Software. For example, if you created a network plan in WLAN Management Software Version
4.0, you can open the plan in WLAN Management Software Version 4.1. However, because a network plan created in
WLAN Management Software Version 4.0 manages WSSs running WSS Software Version 4.0, you cannot use new
features available in WSS Software Version 4.1 unless you upgrade the WSSs to WSS Software Version 4.1. (To

To open a network plan:

Establish a connection to the WMS Services host on which the network plan is saved.
You can do this by restarting WMS or selecting File > Connect, and then entering the IP address of the
WMS Services host in the WLAN Management Software Services Connection dialog box.

After the connection is established with the WMS Services host, select Services > Plan Management to
access the WLAN Management Software Plan Management page.

Click Switch Plan in the left column to display a list of available network plans.

Select the network plan you want to open and click Switch.
If any changes were made to the currently loaded network plan, you are prompted to save them and close
the file. The Switch Network Plan dialog box appears.

WLAN Management Software establishes a new connection to the host running WMS Services and loads

Importing a Network Plan
You can import objects from another network plan into the currently open plan. When you import objects from another
