About the AC Power Unit
The Versalar routers can operate with AC or DC source power. AC power is
provided by a separate, optional AC power unit mounted in the rack beneath the
router.

The Versalar 25000 ships with two AC power supplies as shown in Figure 1-1,
while the Versalar 15000 ships with one. For redundancy and high-availability
operation, the Versalar 15000 can have an additional power supply installed (for a

Note:
Each AC power supply needs to be mapped to a corresponding DC
power supply. If you have a separate AC power unit (with its two AC power
supplies), you must ensure that there are two corresponding DC power
supplies in the Versalar router. Similarly, if you have two separate AC power
units for redundancy and high-availability operation, as in the Versalar 25000,
you should ensure that the four AC power supplies map to four DC power
supplies in the chassis.
