Retrieving the Accounting Data File
The accounting data file can be retrieved directly from local memory using FTP or
TFTP, the
TFTP, the
get
command, and the special file name BAYACCTG. The accounting
data appears as a file, so you can retrieve it without first saving it to the file
system.
system.
Note that since the special BAYACCTG file is not resident on the file system, it
does not appear in an FTP directory listing. Instead, the special keyword,
BAYACCTG, tells FTP to get the accounting data file direct from memory.

Note:
FTP requires a login and a password. TFTP does not have any
authentication support. If there is a security risk, you can disable TFTP, or set
up service filters to restrict access to the router to a list of trusted IP addresses.

Note:
When you use FTP or TFTP to retrieve files with special file names, the
command
get BAYACCTG
retrieves the accounting data file
direct from memory. By contrast, the command
get 10:BAYACCTG
looks for
the file BAYACCTG on the flash memory in slot 10. If the file is not there, it
reports an error. In this second instance, it looks for the BAYACCTG file in a
specific location and does not retrieve the accounting data file direct from
memory.
