Resetting a System or Slot
The
reset
command allows you to reset one or more slots and use the currently
active software image. To reset one or more slots, enter the slot number or
numbers after the

command. If you issue the
reset
command with no
arguments, the router will reboot, using the default router software image and
configuration; this is equivalent to entering the
configuration; this is equivalent to entering the
boot
command.
To reset (boot) the entire system, enter the following command:

To reset one or more processor cards only, enter the

command as follows:
When you issue the
reset
command from a local console rather than from a Telnet
session, the results depend on:
•
The slot number that you designate in the command line
•
The slot number from which you issue the command
Based on these variables, the router system or slot performs a restart, a
warm-boot, or a cold-boot operation.

Note:
If you reset the slot in which the BCC is running, the BCC resets with
the next available slot.
