Improved subwoofer distance calculation
Version 3.1 computes subwoofer distances during the automatic calibration procedure by using the same
calculations as the Version 4.0 software. Version 4.0 averages the distance of the front left and front right
speakers from the listening position (microphones). Our latest research has proven that sound quality is
improved when calculating subwoofer distances using this method.  Previously, Version 3.0 used the short-
est speaker distance in the speaker array.
Upgrade results in incorrect default ASA parameter value
When upgrading an MC-12 V2.0 unit to V3.1, the default value for the ASA parameter is incorrectly set
to “together.” The correct default for V3.1 should be “apart.” The ASA (Advanced Speaker Array) param-
eter controls the proprietary THX rear channel processing in the 5.1 THX ULTRA2, 5.1 THX MUSIC, DTS
THX ULTRA2, DTS THX MUSIC, 5.1a THX ULTRA2 and 5.1a THX MUSIC listening modes.
