Symptoms and solutions
Diagnostic tools
The Phaser 540 provides several tools for diagnosing and solving various 
types of problems, from print quality to media jams.  These tools include the 
following:
“Troubleshooting and print quality quick reference” table
 
Describes several printing problems by symptom (including an 
example), then lists the possible causes and solutions.  See 
page 6-8.
Test Print
Found in the Help Pages menu (accessed from the front panel); it 
helps you diagnose print quality problems.  For example, if a 
user-replaceable component, such as toner, needs to be replaced.
Phaser 540 Quick Reference Card
Provides easy access to troubleshooting information on media 
jams and maintaining print quality (including color examples of 
print quality symptoms).
Configuration Page 
Found in the Help Pages menu (accessed from the front panel), it, 
provides useful information for installation and troubleshooting.  
Refer to Appendix A for details on printing the 
Configuration Page.
