Print-Quality Problems
When the print quality is poor, select the closest symptom from the following table and see the 
corresponding solution to correct the problem. You can also print test pages to more precisely 
determine the print quality problem. See 
If the print quality does not improve after carrying out the appropriate action, contact Xerox Customer 
Support or your reseller.
Note:
Your printer comes with the option to continue printing even if a toner cartridge is low or out. 
You can enable or disable this feature. See the Toner Out Action section in the

Cause
Solution
Nothing is printed or there are 
blank spots on the printed 
page.
One or more of the toner 
cartridges may be defective.
Remove the toner cartridge and inspect 
it for damage.
The imaging unit may be 
defective.
Remove the imaging unit and inspect it 
for damage. If it is damaged, replace it.
The media is moist from 
humidity.
Remove the moist media and replace it 
with new, dry media.
Adjust the humidity in the media 
storage area. 
The media set in the printer 
driver does not match the 
media loaded in the printer 
tray.
Load the correct media in the printer or 
change the media chosen in the printer 
driver to match the media loaded in the 
tray.
The power source does not 
match the printer 
specifications.
Use a power source with the proper 
specifications. See 
Several sheets are being fed at 
the same time.
Remove the media from the tray and 
check for static electricity. Fan plain 
paper or other media and then replace it 
in the tray.
Media is not set properly in the 
tray.
Remove the media, tap it to straighten 
and align it, then return it to the tray 
and realign the media guides.
The entire sheet is printed in 
black or other color.
One or more of the toner 
cartridges may be defective.
Remove the toner cartridges and inspect 
them for damage. Replace any that are 
damaged.
The imaging unit may be 
defective.
Remove the imaging unit and inspect it 
for damage. If damaged, replace it.
