i1000

The following features have been included in your i1000 to make it even 
simpler to place and receive calls — and they can save you time and money.

Call Waiting allows you to switch between calls. It is always ON unless you 
turn it OFF for a specific call. 

  1.  If you’re already on a call, you will hear a 

tone to alert you of an incoming call. Your 
display shows the incoming number and 
asks “Take Call?”. To accept the call, 
press 

 under “Yes”. To decline the 

call, press 

 under “No”. If you’re 

a Nextel Voice Mail customer, the call 
will be forwarded to your Nextel Voice 
Mailbox.

  2.  To switch between calls, press 

 and 

then press  

 under “Hold.” This 

allows you to move between the two calls. 

  3.  Press 

or close the cover to end the 

active call.

  1.  Press 

 until you see “Wait,” then 

press 

 under “Wait.”

  2.  Press 

 under “Off”. Call Waiting will be disabled for one 

call — but will automatically reset to ON after that call. 

When you’re already on the phone, you can place a call on hold and make a 
second call. “3way” and “Spkr” appear as options on your display only 
while you are on an active call. 

  1.  To place the active call on hold, press 

 and then press 

 

under “Hold”. You may then place another call.

  2.  To toggle between the two calls, press 

 and press 

 under

“Hold” again.
