Tip Use a small screwdriver to remove the 
plastic cap covering the antenna connector.
Before Using Your Phone
SIM card
You receive your SIM card when you register 
with a mobile network operator. The SIM card 
manages your phone number, subscribed 
services, and phonebook information. 
Remove the battery (if it is in place) and insert 
the SIM card into the SIM card holder. A PIN 
code is supplied with the SIM card and must 
be entered when turning on the phone for the 
first time.
IMEI number
Keep a copy of your IMEI (International 
Mobile Equipment Identity) number to allow 
your mobile network operator to block the 
unauthorized use of your phone, if it is stolen. 
The IMEI number is printed at the bottom of 
the battery compartment. You can also display 
the number by entering 
*#06#
 while the phone 
is in Standby view (see Standby view on page 9).
Battery
To open the battery cover, gently press its 
upper part, then slide it down the phone. Insert 
the battery, then slide the cover back in place.
Charging the battery
You must recharge the battery when the 
indicator light flashes red. The screen also 
displays a message when battery power is low.
Make sure you have inserted the battery, then 
connect the charger to the phone. Plug the
