Remote Synchronization
Remote synchronization occurs between your
phone and a synchronization server on the
Internet or an intranet. This is a way to keep
your phone synchronized while on the move.
To set up and start remote synchronization, go
to
Tools > Remote sync
.
Mobile network operators, third-party service
providers, and corporate applications for
personal information management (PIM) may
offer synchronization services. Typically,
calendar events, tasks, contacts, email,
browser bookmarks, and notes (text only) can
be synchronized remotely.
Setting Up Internet,
Email and MMS
You can use your phone to access the Internet
and send and receive email and MMS
messages. To do this, you must set up Internet
accounts.
Setting Up Accounts
Automatically
A convenient way to set up an account is to ask
your service provider to send you an auto-
setup message. Contact your service provider
to find out if it offers such a service. You can
also visit www.sonyericsson.com/support to
find setup wizards that can configure accounts
for many of the major service providers.
You will find the auto-setup messages in
Messaging > Messages > Inbox
. To start an
auto-setup, select the message, then follow the
instructions on the screen.
Setting Up Accounts
You access the Internet using an Internet
Service provider (ISP). You must set up an
Internet account to do any of the following:
Access the Internet.
Send and receive email messages.
GPRS, HSCSD
or CSD
PIM Application
Sync Server
Firewall
Internet/Intranet
