Setting the Camera Mode: Auto and Manual Modes

The camera allows you to choose between [Auto] and [Manual] camera modes. When the camera
mode is set to [Auto], the camera controls the exposure by automatically adjusting the aperture, gain,
shutter speed, ND filter and white balance. Oppositely, when the camera mode is set to [Manual], you
can adjust those settings manually.
By default, the camera mode is set to [Auto]. As such, the camera mode will be set to [Auto] the first
time you use the camera or after you reset all the camera's settings.

1 While the shooting screen is displayed, press SET.

• When performing the procedure with the camera mode set to [Manual], one of the adjustable

settings will be highlighted in orange on the screen. Push the joystick left/right to select [Manual].

2 Push the joystick up/down to select the desired camera mode and then press SET.

NOTES

• When the camera mode is set to [Auto], the camera automatically adjusts the ND filter setting by

default. However, you can set [Camera Setup] > [ND Mode] to [Manual] to allow you to adjust the
ND filter setting manually.

• You can use the [Camera Setup] > [AE Response] setting to change how quickly the aperture

changes during automatic exposure when the camera mode is set to [Auto] or when you are using
push auto iris.

• You can use the [Camera Setup] > [Auto Slow Shutter] setting to select whether the camera will

use shutter speeds slower than the current frame rate when the camera mode is set to [Auto].

• When the camera mode is set to [Auto] and the brightness changes, exposure adjustment may not

be smooth.
